Ospreys are back!
A little over a week ago, I heard that an osprey was spotted off Old Landing Road near Rehoboth Beach -- a sure sign that spring is here or at that point, at least on its way -- but I hadn't seen any of the birds around the Lewes nest sites.
Then, early this morning, an osprey flew overhead as I walked on the beach in Lewes.
Overall, it was a good morning for spotting birds. A pair of hooded mergansers drifted and fished in Delaware Bay just off the beach and there was a common loon there, too.
